Twelve short topic units answering the questions kindergarteners actually ask โ why is it dark at night, where does rain come from, what do snails eat โ with one experiment a week.
Kindergarten science should not be a textbook. It should be a cress seed on the windowsill, a bowl of water testing what floats, and a magnet dragged around the house. This course gives you twelve units of exactly that, each one ending with a drawn-and-labelled page in an observation journal.
The topics are chosen to answer the questions children at this age ask unprompted, which means motivation is never a problem.
By the end of this course, a learner working at the expected pace will be able to:
KG World Around Us is organised into 4 units covering 48 lessons in total, designed to run across 24 weeks at roughly 1.5 hours a week. The unit outline below shows 16 representative lessons.
Every unit follows notice โ wonder โ test โ record. Children are asked to predict before they investigate, which is the habit that later turns into hypothesis writing.
This course sits in the KG track and follows a oxford-aligned sequence. It suits families who want a complete, sequenced science year rather than a set of loose practice activities, and it assumes no teaching experience โ every lesson includes a short method note for the adult. If your child is comfortably ahead or behind the beginner level described here, use the placement check in lesson one and start at the recommended point instead of lesson one.
