Cells, particles, energy and forces as one coherent story
Grade 7 science taught as biology, chemistry and physics with shared threads of energy and particles: cells and body systems, the particle model, reactions, energy transfer and electricity.
Splitting science into three separate subjects at this age tends to produce three sets of half-remembered facts. Grade 7 Integrated Science keeps biology, chemistry and physics distinct as disciplines but threads two big ideas — particles and energy — through all of them, so each unit reinforces the last.
The practicals are filmed rather than assumed, which matters at home: you can watch a proper titration or a microscope slide preparation without owning the equipment, and then do the accessible version yourself.
By the end of this course, a learner working at the expected pace will be able to:
Grade 7 Integrated Science is organised into 5 units covering 96 lessons in total, designed to run across 34 weeks at roughly 3 hours a week. The unit outline below shows 21 representative lessons.
Practical write-ups follow the same structure every time, because familiarity with the format is half of what makes later coursework manageable. Two of the twenty-four practicals deliberately produce messy data so students learn to discuss anomalies.
This course sits in the Grade 7 track and follows a oxford-aligned sequence. It suits families who want a complete, sequenced science year rather than a set of loose practice activities, and it assumes no teaching experience — every lesson includes a short method note for the adult. If your child is comfortably ahead or behind the advanced level described here, use the placement check in lesson one and start at the recommended point instead of lesson one.
